MEDIA INTRODUCTION/GUIDELINES – *ALL ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

TO THE MEDIA

Welcome to the 34th season of Orlando Magic basketball and 13th in the Amway Center. We are very pleased to supply this website and hope it will answer many of your questions throughout the next several months. We sincerely appreciate your interest in the Magic and will do everything possible to meet your needs throughout the course of the season. This website will be supplemented with materials on a regular basis during the year. Again, if we can ever be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to call on us.

In addition to this website, the Orlando Magic communications department has other online and social media tools to assist you in your coverage:

ORLANDO MAGIC PR TWITTER FEED: @MAGIC_PR

Please follow @Magic_PR on Twitter, which will have news, stats, in-game notes, injury updates, press releases and much more about the Orlando Magic.

PR TWITTER FEED FOR AVAILABILITY TIMES: @MAGIC_MEDIAINFO
Please follow @Magic_MediaInfo on Twitter, which is media-only and protected. This is strictly used for updated schedules and media availability times. Once a ‘follow’ request has been sent, it will be reviewed by the communications department before being granted access.

In an effort to continue to provide a professional working environment, we have established the following guidelines for the upcoming campaign:

PRACTICE/SHOOTAROUNDS
As a general rule, Orlando practices and game-day shootarounds will be open to approved media near the completion of each workout. In both cases, interviews with players and coaches will follow the workouts. Please go to the Magic’s media website (OrlandoMagic.com/MagicPR), media-only Twitter feed (@Magic_MediaInfo) or call the Communications Department to confirm practice times and locations. Media MUST have pre-approval from the Communications Department or the NBA to attend practices and shootarounds.

TV/RADIO

Television and radio broadcast positions are located along the scorer’s table on the west sideline of the event level and on the radio deck, which is located on the west side of the club level. The Magic Communications Department will be happy to arrange statisticians for visiting radio and television broadcasters. If statisticians are needed, please contact the Magic Communications Department at least 24 hours prior to game time. Once arrangements are made for statisticians, the individual must be paid whether or not they are used. The Communications Department will be happy to arrange pregame, halftime, and postgame interviews according to NBA guidelines. Please make arrangements for those interviews as early as possible.

MEDIA SEATING
Reserved media seating has been designated in the media loge (northwest corner of arena on club level), as well as on the visitors’ baseline and in the press box (west sideline on press level). All seats are reserved and marked with placecards for each individual media member. To avoid embarrassment, individuals are asked to sit in their pre-assigned seats. Seating charts are posted in the media workroom and throughout the building. Electrical outlets and telephones are placed at press seats for your convenience. If a media member is in need of an individual phone, please contact the Communications Department for assistance. In-game statistics can be accessed via the Communications Department Twitter account, @Magic_PR.

PHOTOGRAPHERS/VIDEOGRAPHERS
Limited space is available on each baseline for both still photographers and television cameramen. All are required to pick up photo vests upon entering the arena. Photographers without photo vests will not be allowed on the arena floor. Freelance photographers will not be credentialed without a certificate of assignment from an established publication.

MEDIA TICKETS
A limited number of game tickets are available for media purchase on a single-game basis from the Magic Communications Department. Unfortunately, due to the small number available, all requests cannot be honored. There are limitations to the number of tickets allotted to each request, and all requests should be made no later than 5:00 p.m. the day before a game (5:00 p.m. Friday for a weekend game).

MEDIA PARKING
Members of the media can use their parking pass to park in the lots designated on the parking pass they receive. There are a limited number of single-game parking passes available for visiting media members upon request of the Communications Department.  Satellite TV truck parking will be provided for up to four satellite trucks on the west side of Division Street. For technical assistance with TV truck and satellite truck parking and coordination, please contact Sara Foults in the Magic’s Broadcast Technology and Services Department at 407-916-2908.

SERVICES
Game notes and media guide will be available electronically via the Magic’s media website (see GAME NOTES and MEDIA GUIDE tabs). Box scores will be posted in a prompt manner at the end of each quarter via Twitter on the Communication Department’s official account – @Magic_PR.
